I went to see Dance Flick, really unsure what I would think but still had an open mind…and I REALLY liked it. I was hysterically laughing the whole time and I really loved the dance sequences too. It's more than just a spoof movie…it has plot, humor, romance but the humor was what I loved best. It really will make you laugh and you are sure to have a good time if you see this movie. Take your friends, so you can all laugh together and quote it afterward. The Wayans always know what they are doing and they got this one right! Take your family, take everyone you know…just go see it and have a great time. Good summer comedy!
I cannot believe these grown men with children themselves would make such a morally defiling movie. I will not see another Wayne's Brothers movie again nor will I allow my 13 year old. They step way over the line not caring who they may offend. With the way this world is going and what our young children are subject to already- I consider this insensitive and downright terrible. Even in other comedies filled with profanity there is usually a message. I left this movie needing to answer many questions that my kid was not ready for. If the movie was Rated R I would prolly not bedisappointed because my kids would have never seen it! yuck!
The more pertinent question: Can the audience stick with this flick that showed most of its funny bits in the trailer? For the most part, yeah.
Dance Flick is a dance film parody based on a screenplay by the Wayans Brothers—Dante, Keenen Ivory, Shawn, Marlon, and Craig—and directed by their nephew Damien Dante. Being releasedan Unrated version on DVD, the Director's Cut features approximately 6 minutes of new footage that was reinserted into the movie. Don't expect anything spectacular and those scenes don't improve the movie at all. Fans are maybe happy with this new cut, others won't care.
